Paramata Lodge

A new contemporary lodge with dining and generous NZ hosts situated beside the Kakapotahi Ecological Reserve between Hokitika and Franz Josef Glacier. Secluded, peaceful, private. Wildlife encounters and miles of remote beach, forest walking and lagoon kayaking. Take a private walk or kayak, or a guided tour.

Three spacious contemporary private suites with mountain and forest views, NZ library, two lounges, sculpture enhanced gardens. Guided tours begin with a complimentary introduction to the ecology and history around the lodge.

Dinner is a fine dining but relaxed affair made from produce grown at the lodge and a selection of quality NZ wines and other beverages are available. Espresso coffee, fresh local fish and wild preserved condiments are a specialty.

Situated centrally to the regions main scenic attractions including five National Parks.

Hosts Kathy and Neil are knowledgable in NZ geography, local history and ecology and birdlife. Neil is a metal sculptor and Kathy tutored in NZ Maori and Pakeha relations and Treaty of Waitangi history. We welcome you!
