A 25 minute drive takes you to Stratford, the gateway to Egmont National park and Mount Taranaki. It is a 4½ hour drive from Wellington and Auckland, situated perfectly in the middle for people making the drive between the two cities. Taranaki Country Lodge offers you the opportunity to experience farm life or simply while the day away moving from unique indoor/outdoor living to exquisite indoor comfort, you, the visitor, will enjoy a stay of difference. Each unit is spacious with ensuite, TV, super king bed, tea and coffee making facilities and wireless internet. Your hosts will provide hospitality that encompasses Our Home - Your Home.
You can relax by the log fire in winter or sit back on the patio in summer and enjoy the views of the coast uninterrupted by traffic or people. The views of the coast and the mountain can both be experienced from the comfort of the lounge. Breakfast in the morning is continental with a variety of fruits, cereals and yoghurt followed by a farmhouse breakfast of bacon eggs and other choices. If you wish to organise dinner a sample menu can be sent to you prior to your arrival. If you wish to experience farm activities this can be arranged as there is access to 80 acres of farmland. You can see sheep dogs work or watch a shearing demonstration, all this available on this property. Jim and Robyn will also spend time with you if you need assistance planning activities during your stay as they have a knowledge of many of the activities in the region. This property is also within 20 minutes drive to 5 different golf courses. We are also very well sited for people coming to the region for the rhododendron festival. Remember that a one night stop in this region will leave you disappointed that you did not stay longer. There are many attractions to suit a wide variety of travellers and the personal service you receive from your hosts will ensure your stay is a special one.
